FAQ
What should I wear?
Comfortable is the way to go. Wear easy to remove shoes and lower garments that either will not fall into the mud bowl or can be rolled up out of the way.
Will I have to get undressed?
No. The mud bath is a fully clothed experience, except for bare feet, so no need to get undressed.
Will someone be applying the mud to my body?
No. The House of Mud escape is a self- care experience from start to finish.
Will I have to sit on the floor during meditation?
No. During the 10-minute guided meditation portion of the experience you will be seated in a comfortable, cushioned chair.
How long does a session last?
Each session is one hour long. That includes mud mixing, 10-minute guided meditation + mud bath, rinse, soak, and moisturizing.
Will I have a room to myself?
The House of Mud experience is communal. Each session has a max of six participants.
What type of mud do you use?
We use various clays including French Green, Rhassoul, Bentonite, and Kaolin White for the creation you make for at-home application and a mixture of Moor mud and Lizella clay for the foot baths you will experience during meditation at House of Mud.
Is the mud safe for sensitive or allergy-prone skin?
Sensitive skin conditions like eczema and rosacea can actually benefit from the healing properties found in clay. Some redness after a clay mask can be common, especially with a french green clay, bentonite or rhassoul clay. The redness will go away naturally in approximately 30 minutes. For known allergies, always consult with your health care provider for guidance before introducing a new skin routine.
